WESTERN EUROPEAN CAPITALS

Weather and climate along your route

Amsterdam, Brussels, Paris and London are close enough for a compact rail trip, yet they do not always share the same weather. Atlantic systems frequently cross the region and reach each city at a different time. A shared hourly view helps fit journeys and sightseeing around rain bands or strong winds. Even at similar temperatures, cloud, moisture and wind can make conditions feel very different.

Amsterdam

Amsterdam’s proximity to the North Sea and its many open waterways frequently bring wind, cloud and brief showers. Mild temperatures can therefore feel considerably cooler.

Brussels

Brussels occupies the transition from coast to inland Europe and often receives changeable westerly weather. Calm humid periods can encourage fog or low cloud.

Paris

Paris lies farther inland and is often somewhat warmer and drier in summer. Heatwaves and strong thunderstorms can also become more pronounced than directly on the coast.

London

London is strongly influenced by the Atlantic, making extremes less common and changes frequent. Dense urban areas retain warmth, while wind and showers can affect different parts of the city unevenly.
